Visware
Customized Solution Service Employ a Six-step Development and Implementation
Methodology:
To ensure
the utmost satisfaction of our customers, Visware will adhere to the six-step
development and implementation methodology below for our Customized Solution
Service.
Feasibility
Study
Visware will conduct a feasibility study from both technical and business
perspective. This feasibility study looks into the potential for developing
a system to meet a perceived user needs. It will consider all options,
examine the benefits of the options considered, recommend a way forward,
and prepare budget for the recommended approach for customer review.
Preparation
of Outline and Detailed Specification
Visware will prepare an outline specification for customer's review and
comments. After review and consolidation of users' comments and technical
evaluations, a detailed specification will be complied based on which
the final IT solution will be developed.
Testing
Stage
Throughout
the three testing stages below, Visware will maintain a formal testing
log and confirm that all testing exceptions have been corrected before
the system goes live.
- Programming
Test
Visware will assure that all program coding are signed off by our respective
team of programmer and systems analyst before it is transferred into
tested status.
- System
Test
Once program test has been satisfactorily completed, the development
moves to the system testing stage. Visware will conduct a full system
test to make sure that the different elements of the system, including
those of customers, interface together.
- User
Acceptance Test
Once system test has been completed, our customer will be invited for
user acceptance test to ensure that the system has been tested to his/her
requirements, and that he/she is satisfied that the system is secure
and meets his/her requirements. This is also an opportunity to confirm
the adequacy of the user procedures which should be available and used
during user acceptance testing.
Preparation
of Operating Procedures
Towards the end of the system development, Visware development team and
customer will jointly make preparations for the live running of the system.
Visware will compile operating procedures and/or operating manual to facilitates
on-going customer operations.
Conversion
Stage
This is the process of converting the data from the previous manual or
computer system to the new system, so that live running can commence.
Visware will plan and carry out the necessary conversion and ensure that
all data are converted adequately and fully.
Implementation
Depending on the nature, criticality and user preference of the IT solution,
Visware and customer can jointly choose one of the three approaches for
solution implementation.
- Big
Bang Approach
which call for a complete move to the new system in one go.
- Parallel
Running Approach
which maintain the new system in parallel with the old one, be that
manual or computerized for a certain period. Once the new system has
proved itself, the old system can be discontinued and the new system
can be put into production.
- Pilot
Running Approach
which plan for the running of the system at one or more departments
within the customer's organization, until the new system has been fully
proven. This could be used, for example, with a system which is to be
used at a number of similar business units. These systems could be pilot
run at one business unit, and them introduced throughout the organization
in phases.
